Prayers and Shoes Needed
The Bolivian mission team needs your help in providing tennis shoes for the boys in the Kaya homes (formerly the Bolivian Street Children Project). Jim Hauptman and Lee Frye will be traveling to La Paz, Bolivia on July 8 to personally deliver these shoes to the children, as well as work with the staff and children at Barnabus House, Bethany House and Renacer, the transition home for children just coming off the streets. Please visit with Jim or Lee at the information tables in each lobby June 21 or July 5 for ways in which you can provide shoes for the children.

You can make a difference in the lives of these children. First of all, pray. Pray for our team, the staff in Bolivia and especially the children. Second, help us fill our suitcases with shoes for the children in Bolivia. Third, your financial contribution to Bethany Lutheran will help sponsor the project. Each dollar we raise will go directly to helping the children of Kaya. Together we can make a difference, "Bringing new hope to the children on the streets."

Listening Session Summaries
During the month of May three Listening Sessions were held in order to move towards the congregational goal of "Communicate clearly and effectively; listen and speak the truth in love in many and various ways with integrity and transparency." These Listening Sessions resulted in three weeks of prayer and discernment by our Council. These Listening Session comments were broken down into six categories. On June 14th our Church Council reported on what had been heard during these Listening Sessions. Print copies are available in the church office.

Noontime Prayer Invitation
One of the disciplines we were all encouraged to pick up at Lent was to pray at noontime each day.  As a staff we have decided to continue that discipline.  You are invited to join us each day at noon in the Chapel at Bethany!  If you are not able to join us in the Chapel, here is the format we have been using for noonday prayer – join us in spirit!

Peace in Jesus!

Discover LIFE Groups!
LIFE Groups “do life” together. They have fun. They eat together. They learn and they help each other in times of joy or in times of need. They pray and laugh together and focus on a common mission need where they discern God’s call. You are invited to join any group. Learn more about current groups, and check back, as new groups will be forming throughout the year!
